Disney Institute - Inspiring Creativity

Walter Kurlin brings more than 25 years of business experience into helping professionals benchmark Disney best practices as they strive to make changes within their own organizations.

Walter became a Disney cast member in 2000 with a role as a senior sales manager for Disney Event Group. As part of this unique department, he gained extensive sales and leadership experience across multiple markets and lines of business including association, corporate and convention markets, as well as Disney Resort hotels, entertainment and park events.

In 2005, Walter joined the Disney Institute team as a senior sales manager before transitioning to his current role in 2008. Whether assisting an individual or an entire company, his broad knowledge of all levels of Disney Institute programming has enabled him to help others achieve their personal and business objectives.

Prior to working for The Walt Disney Company, Walter leveraged his talents as a meeting planner, advertising manager, Air Force veteran, and sales representative for media outlets and transportation/destination management companies. Walter brings broad perspective and business savvy to every program he facilitates.

Walter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in advertising from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Stetson University in Deland, Florida. Walter earned the professional designation of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) in 2001. He is an active member in professional organizations including the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association, Professional Conference Management Association and is a past President of his local Meeting Professionals International association.
