ASCP's FastFAX Becomes a Member-Only Service

FastFAX, ASCP's state-of-the-art fax-on-demand information retrieval system, became a member-only service last month. The change follows a substantial expansion during the past year in the amount and level of information offered through the free, fully automated service, which has been available since 1994.

ASCP's FastFAX provides instant access to practice information, government affairs updates, meetings and conventions details, educational opportunities, product facts, membership news, Research and Education Foundation happenings, and volunteer information. FastFAX listings are continuously updated and expanded as new information becomes available, and the service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"As the caliber and extent of information available on ASCP's FastFAX increased, the society came to the conclusion that these comprehensive information services should be a member-only benefit," said ASCP Executive Director Tim Webster. "Though non-members are still able to access membership, meetings, convention, and product information, most FastFAX resources are now reserved exclusively for members."

Webster reminds members that they will need to have their six-digit membership number ready in order to gain full access to FastFAX. It is not necessary to enter the letters attached to the numeric membership code.

To begin using FastFAX, call 800-707-2727 (international members call 402-271-9130). Voice instructions will tell you how to have a FastFAX Table of Contents faxed to you immediately. Once you have the directory in hand, find the code number of the document or documents you want, call FastFAX, and follow the step-by-step instructions that lead you through the document request process. You may request up to 10 documents per call.

ASCP staff is available to answer questions Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm at 800-355-ASCP(2727).
