at Ocean City, Maryland. A retired University of Maryland art
instructor, Longley now teaches art classes at the Leisure World
retirement community in Silver Spring, Maryland. He resides in
Olney, Maryland.

Geriatric Assessment Teams: A Review of the Literature

Pioneered in England 60 years ago, the use of multidisciplinary
teams to coordinate screening, diagnosis, and treatment of elderly
patients is becoming more widespread in both inpatient and outpatient
settings. Experience to date indicates that a team approach to
geriatric care can result in better health care and improved functioning.

System for Exchanging Information Among Pharmacists in Different Practice Environments

The results of this investigation suggest that implementing a
system to promote continuity of care through increased exchange
of patient-specific information among inpatient and ambulatory pharmacies correlates with an increased rate of
pharmacist interventions in some practice settings.
