The week of October 19-25, 2008 will mark the 13th annual observance of National Consultant & Senior Care Pharmacists Week. ASCP has prepared promotional materials to help you plan and conduct special events in your community to help patients and the public understand why the consultant pharmacist is one of our nation’s most valuable health care resources.

These promotional materials are easy to use and include a sample press release, public service announcements, “op-ed” articles for your local newspaper, links to help seniors with the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit, and slide presentations on the health challenges of seniors and the role of consultant and senior care pharmacists in meeting those challenges.

The primary objective of National Consultant & Senior Care Pharmacists Week is to nationally promote the value of consultant and senior care pharmacists through high-profile media and public relations activities. By orchestrating community events during the week of October 19–25, ASCP chapters and individual members can play an important role in carrying on the ASCP legacy of professional excellence and community involvement.
