Educational Affairs Program Manager

The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) has an immediate opening for an Educational Affairs Program Manager in its Alexandria, VA office. 

General Responsibility

Provides support to the Educational Affairs Department in the development and coordination of educational initiatives. Essential duties included management of the Learning Management System (LMS) and speaker support for education meetings. Travel to the association’s national conference is required.

Learning Management System

  • Create, maintain and provide LMS support for live and self-study CE courses.
  • Prepare and design faculty presentations in authoring tool software.
  • Serve as point of contact for system developers.
  • Serve as point of contact for system users – triaging and responding to their calls and emails in a time sensitive fashion.
  • Create course shells, evaluations, and learning assessments for all educational activities on the LMS.
  • Oversee upgrades, changes and work orders.
  • Identify/respond to technical challenges and resolve accordingly.
  • Work closely with and provide support to external course editor for online geriatric pharmacy review courses

Conferences and Educational Activities

  • Work with the Director of Education to develop a yearly needs assessment.
  • Work with the Education Advisory Council to review session proposals, develop topics, and create learning objectives for the Annual Meeting.
  • Arrange speakers for educational activities.
  • Assist faculty and speakers in developing programs.
  • Work with Director of Meetings to arrange logistical details for events.
  • Review meeting and session evaluations to identify topics and improve activity quality.
  • Coordinate and review session proposals.
  • Collaborate with partnering organizations to provide ASCP programming at other conferences and events.

Miscellaneous

  • Serve as project manager for assigned educational activities.
  • Track and maintain a running budget of program related expenses.
  • Provide customer service support for educational initiative inquiries.
  • Provide staff support to appropriate ASCP leadership groups.

Ideal candidate will have a BA/BS, Pharmacy preferred.  Clear oral and written communications skills in English, including the ability to write session descriptions, learning objectives, speaker correspondence.  Must have knowledge of budgetary and business math principles and the ability to manage numerous concurrent projects.  Proficiency in MS Office.  Experience with Mac-based operating system, Moodle, Captivate and/or Articulate a plus.
