Privacy Policy

The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its Web site.  ASCP strongly believes that if electronic commerce and online activities are to flourish, consumers must be assured that information provided online is used responsibly and appropriately.  To protect online privacy, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists has implemented the following policy.

What Information Does the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists Collect?

Most data the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists collects are used only to help ASCP better serve its members and visitors.  It is our general policy to collect and store only information that our members and visitors knowingly provide.

From Visitors

The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists does not collect any information from visitors browsing its Web site.  Visitors to the ASCP Web site browse anonymously.  Only aggregate data -- such as the number of hits per page -- are collected.  Aggregate data are only used for internal analysis and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.

We do collect limited identifying information volunteered by visitors to the site through membership applications and publication orders.  This information may include name, organization name, phone number, street address and email.  ASCP uses this information only for the purposes for which it was provided.  We may occasionally allow other allied organizations specific, one-time use of our postal mailing list to provide our constituents with information that is compatible with the American Society of Consultant Pharmacist's mission. This privacy statement will be updated to reflect any policy revisions.

Credit Card Account Information

When members or visitors provide credit card account information to the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists or its agents (a credit card processing company, for example), ASCP submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate financial institution.  ASCP does not further disclose credit card account information obtained from members or visitors.

How Does the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists Web Site Use Cookies?

The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists uses cookies only to enable members to access member only data without re-logging in each time.

What Privacy Issues Arise With Links To Other Sites?

This Web site contains links to other Web sites.  The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies of such sites.

Future Changes to This Policy

From time to time, we may use visitor information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice.  If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to our Web site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses.  If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our Web site periodically.

ASCP collects cookies on our Web site to capture information about page visits. This information is anonymous and ASCP uses this information only internally - to deliver the most effective content to our visitors. Information from the cookies is used to gauge page popularity, analyze traffic patterns on our site and guide development of other improvements to our site. ASCP does not require that you accept cookies, however, some functionality on our Web site, our product or service check-out process, and products and services may be disabled if you decline to accept cookies. ASCP uses analytics data and the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website.  Site visitors may opt out of the DoubleClick cookie by visiting the Google advertising opt-out page or they may opt out of Google Analytics by visiting the Google Analytics opt-out page.
