Target Audience:
This activity is intended for pharmacists working in the community or long-term care setting who interact with senior patients suffering from symptoms of headaches and migraines.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this application-based activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the pathophysiology of headache disorders that may affect the senior patient.
  • Differentiate between the diagnostic criteria along with signs and symptoms of various headache disorders affecting older adults.
  • Recommend both prescription, over-the-counter and non-pharmacologic treatment options.
  • Evaluate assessment tools, clinical guidelines and evidence-based literature for therapeutic selections.
  • Apply recommendations and goals to patient cases.
