2018 Meeting Celebrates Senior Care Pharmacists as Health Care Heroes

Alexandria, VA—The American Society for Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) opened registration yesterday for its the eagerly anticipated 2018 Annual Meeting & Exhibition. ASCP’s 49th Annual Meeting will take place November 1-4, 2018 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. The meeting theme is “Senior Care Pharmacists: Health Care Heroes.”

This national meeting offers 12 credits of Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP) recertification and the opportunity to earn up to 15 hours of continuing pharmacy education (CPE). Meeting highlights include:

  • Advanced clinical topics, including opioids, medical marijuana, and a Beers Criteria debate
  • Updates from the DEA and CMS
  • A new improved expo hall with product demos and Ted-style talks on topics like “the science of beer”
  • Cutting-edge business education, including collaborative practice agreements and chronic care management
  • A chance to visit ASCP’s new headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia

The meeting also features numerous parties and receptions, a fundraiser for the ASCP Foundation, and several events and activities for pharmacy students.
