3 Changes to The Senior Care Pharmacist You Need to Know About

Alexandria, VA, January 3, 2020. With the start of 2020, ASCP welcomes three major changes to The Senior Care Pharmacist, the peer-reviewed scholarly publication of ASCP and the only journal dedicated exclusively to the medication therapy needs of older adults. Beginning this month, we will publish exclusively online. Readers may access the journal at Current ASCP members will receive a printed mailer coinciding with the first issue’s launch, in early January, which lists the table of contents and select abstracts.

To enhance readers’ online experience, The Senior Care Pharmacist has joined social media, as well! The journal now has a Twitter account (@TSCPJournal) and a company page on LinkedIn ( Readers can follow us on both mediums for the latest articles, news, updates, and more.

Readers will also notice several changes to the masthead. The incoming editor-in-chief is Dr. Chris Alderman, BPharm, PhD, FSHP, BCPP, CGP of Adelaide, Australia. ASCP also has a new creative editor, Eleanor Tipton, based in ASCP’s Alexandria, Virginia offices. Additionally, readers will see the addition of two associate editors. One will be Dr. Demetra Antimisiaris, PharmD, BCGP, FASCP, who received ASCP’s Archambault award, the society’s highest honor, at the 2019 annual meeting, conferred to an individual for their outstanding contributions to the consulting pharmacy. The other will be Dr. Justin Turner, BPharm, MClinPharm, PhD, who is the Senior Advisor, Science Strategy for the Canadian Deprescribing Network. Dr Turner is passionate about implementing deprescribing initiatives and measuring outcomes that matter for older adults.
